The 2005 Jimmy "O" Annual Classic will be held at Philadelphia Park Racetrack on Saturday, June 25th. A race will be held in his memory and donations to the Welch Family Cancer Fund will be made in his name.
 

 
The Jimmy O Race will be the 6th race. The race will start approximately at 2:30 P.M.  Guests should arrive no later than 2:00 P.M.  Upon arrival at Philadelphia Park, guests should proceed to the 3rd Floor Dining Room. A buffet of cold cuts and cold drinks will be served. Two complimentary tickets per person will be provided to guests for alcoholic beverages. A cash bar will be available.

The Welch Family Cancer Fund has been set up to help a family that is dealing with the horrors of cancer. Both mother and father have been diagnosed with cancer. There are two daughters ages 14 and 16. Both parents have lost their jobs due to their illnesses. They and their daughters are facing incredible emotional and financial hurdles. A group of family members, friends and neighbors have come together to raise funds to help this family. This cause would have been very important to Jimmy as he and Jackie Welch were cousins.
